I think a really high quality reverb is not easy to make and mostly needs lot of cpu (or even multi-core processing).What is the BEST 64-Bit Reverb For X1a? For the life of me, I can't find a good 64-bit Reverb. But all the iOS reverbs (beside PRO-R maybe, but it can´t do really huge stuff) has that metallic ring and canned like sound with 100% wet (or much more than 50% at least).
In the meantime i prefer AudioReverb from Virsyn and AUFX:Space together. There is just no market and they won´t sell their top of the line algorithms for a few dollars. Of course i already asked a few of my favorite reverb developers if there could be an iOS version. The Valhalla reverbs are great and cheap (for desktop plug-ins) but for me they can´t nearly sound so deep and lush like the 2CAudio stuff. I even would be happy with B2´s little brother called Breeze on iOS (I love Aether too of course). įunny, i explored it a while ago here in this forum while someone was raving about it.

I can use 10-20 B2`s on my entree speced Macbook Pro 15" from 2013. If you turn the oversampling off it´s O.K. It can do just everything but my favorite parts are the "625 meter alien ship building halls filled with liquid metal" like effects. OK on my iMac but my old MacBook Pro tries to run out of the room and hide if I even think about using it.īut i use it also for acoustic things. It is the best for sound design / ambient / experimental but you had better have a recent high end CPU if you want to use it. Imho his native plugins often outperform Eventide's PC versions.īut I wouldn't assume the same on their DSP based units, stomp box or 19". Sean Costello (the man behind Valhalla DSP) is very knowledgeable in the reverb domain. Really strange, it just widens up the virtual room and smoothes everything, yet the tone stays well defined. impossible to reproduce on any other tape plugin, at least for me. It's an echo algorithm but with 'unusual' parameters (not Space Echo-ish at all). I frequently use it at the end of the chain, often on top of a regular reverb. Crystalline is on par with Valhalla shimmer, but to make things really spacy there's a hidden gem in Valhalla's Übermod: the Tape Echo section on high feedback rates > 50%.
